                        8.30am Start of the 500m V6 Sprints

Held at picturesque Muri Lagoon, the sprint events are always keenly contested but most importantly, a huge amount of fun!! The feedback from the last four years has shown that crews look at the sprint day as a fun day and we have decided to make sure that this year, we have even more fun than ever!!

All crews will participate in the 500m races in the morning and then all of the 250m races will be ‘fun races’ seeing different crews teaming up together – all ages, all genders, all countries! The World Famous “pop the ama” competition will take place later in the afternoon, so start practicing now!!

Even though we saw record rain falls during the sprints last year, it was a huge amount of fun and everyone was determined to enjoy their day at Muri Beach despite the “winter-like” weather! Fingers crossed for a beautiful sunny day at Muri Lagoon in 2008!

Sail’s Restaurant and Bar will be open when paddlers arrive serving breakfast goodies followed by lunch. Snacks are available all day long. Sail’s is a “Friend of Paddler” and they will be offering special prices on all food and beverage to paddlers and supporters throughout the day.

And then…..The Steinlager Muri Mingler

For the third year, Steinlager and Sail’s will be hosting a special evening for paddlers and their supporters, starting after the sprints and fun races end from around 5pm. Dinner will be served which is included in the paddlers pack for all registered paddlers wearing their Id wristbands.

The Steinlager Muri Mingler will start with live music and then the DJ will start pumpin’ until midnight.
