What: Traditional Blessing of Vaka's
When: 5pm
Where: Avarua Wharf

There will be a traditional blessing of New Zealand and local vakas, followed by final registration where all indemnity forms must be signed and handed in. All paddlers already on the island must register. Once paddlers have signed the indemnity form they will receive a security identification wristband. This must be kept on for the whole week. You will not be allowed on to the water without the wristband. There will be a different colour wristband for each different division.

All fees for the OC1 races MUST be paid on Friday night in order to compete in Saturday’s OC1 races, otherwise allocated OC1’s will be given to other paddlers who do pay their fees.

For any paddlers not yet on the island, the registration desk will be open prior to all races and paddlers are asked to register as early as they can. Indemnity forms must be signed by EVERY participating paddler – no going on the water until the form is signed. Paddlers Packs will also be given in return for the signed indemnity forms.

And then……

Take it easy if you’re racing first thing in the morning, but if not, Friday night is Party Night in Raro!!!!  The registration desk is a stone’s throw away from Trader Jacks and those that have been to previous Vaka Eiva’s know that it’s the place to be! Pop up to the Vaka Bar and grab yourself some of our sponsors’ products – remember we support those that support us!!!

Those that are racing in the OC1’s tomorrow, head home a little earlier!
